About:The University of Illinois at Chicago, Division of Specialized Care for Children (DSCC) offers care coordination, benefits management, no cost diagnostics and financially supported specialized treatment for children from birth to age 21 with eligible special health care needs.  Special health care needs include chronic disabling conditions such as heart defects, orthopedic conditions, cerebral palsy, hearing impairments, errors of metabolism, hemophilia, cystic fibrosis, some disfiguring defects such as cleft lip/cleft palate and certain speech disorders.  Financial assistance is based on parental income; available private and public insurance/funds must be utilized prior to expenditure of DSCC funds.
